A light and sound show projected onto Sir James Thornhill's painted ceiling, finished in 1726 and still nicknamed Britain's Sistine Chapel, arriving in the same year that ceiling turns three hundred. The pensioners it was built to feed apparently refused to eat below it, judging the paintwork too fine for dinner. Three centuries on, the pairing of light and old paint feels less like a stunt and more like a debt to history, paid in full, up front.
