Courtyard gardens usually hidden behind Smithfield's high stone walls, some dating to the 14th-century Carthusian monastery, open for a single summer evening. A spritz bar and a sourdough pizza van set up among the box hedges, best visited before the light falls and the gardens close again for another year.
