Fayre opens on the ground floor of The Shepherd Mayfair, done up in dark timber and berry-toned banquettes under a mural of the old Shepherd Market fair. The kitchen keeps it simple: a Gloucester Old Spot pork chop, a beef Wellington pithivier built for sharing. It's the sort of neighbourhood dining room Mayfair has quietly gone without for years.
