From Water, Every Living Thing

Gold calligraphy moves across black marble water in this installation from Soraya Syed, the first Briton ever licensed to practise traditional Islamic calligraphy at its highest level. Her script animates the fountain at the heart of the Arab Hall, turning still water into a moving page, in a hall marking its hundredth year on the London stage.
