Dunkirk's little boats open for visitors
St Katharine Docks Marina
1 August 2026
Free
A fleet of small boats that once crossed the Channel to help pull soldiers off the beaches at Dunkirk in 1940 will moor up for the day in the historic dock basin, with owners standing by to talk through the scars and stories each vessel still carries. It costs nothing to wander the quay and see history that still floats, a short walk from Tower Bridge and considerably more moving than most of the cruise boats moored nearby.
