Find the IP you already have
Your material is behind you, in what has already happened to you. This one digs it out by interviewing you rather than answering for you.
I want to develop valuable intellectual property that is unique to me.
Ideally I will have a signature method and a unique name for what I offer.
Based on my story, experiences, triumphs and struggles ask me questions and help me uncover potential signature content.
Expect to be asked a lot of questions before you get anything back. That is the point. The output to look for is a named method, not a list of topics.
02
Work out what someone has to believe
Nobody buys because you asked. They buy because a set of things became true in their head first. This names them, and each one is a piece of content waiting to be made.
Based on what you know about my core offer, what are the 10 beliefs someone would have to have in order for them to enthusiastically buy from me?
Ten beliefs is ten pieces of long form content, and a running order for them. This is the most immediately useful of the four.
03
Get specific about who you are for
The pyramid only pays if you know which tier you are talking to. Three conditions here, and the third one, that they would be energising to work with, is the one most people skip.
I want to clarify my ideal customer persona. My ideal customer is someone who has a problem I am uniquely placed to solve or an outcome I can deliver. They have a budget to spend or disposable income. They would be energising for me to work with. Ask me questions and then present me with detailed examples of my ideal customer persona
Push back on the first personas it gives you. They are usually a flattering average rather than a real person.
04
Audit how much of you exists
The two to seven hours are the whole argument for long form. This is the honest measure of whether anyone could actually spend that long with you if they wanted to.
Search online for quality content that features me. How many pieces of quality content can you easily find? How many hours can someone spend freely watching or reading my content to get to know me? Am I positioned as a Key Person of Influence in my industry? If not, how can I improve?
The number will be lower than you think. Run it now, then run it again in six months.
